Heartthrob Vacation

Illustrations: 5 out of 5
Plot: 5 out of 5

Rena and Tomoya finally confess their true feelings for each other and now they face a new challenge — an overnight trip! Rena wants to “further” their relationship, but what will Tomoya have to say about it?

The artwork still looks pretty cute; and I still love Tomoya’s designs. :D Though, his shoujo manga boy personality is kind of annoying, but I like his dominant side. xD And Rena remind me of myself (the love of smut, not the melting). :P Also the romance scenes are so adorable — made me feel as gushy inside. >.< Please note: This chapter talks about “first times” and sex, but no sexual acts happen (unless you count kissing).

Overall, it is pretty cliche for a shoujo manga, but I still found it pretty cute. :D

A Small Crush

Illustrations: 5 out of 5
Plot: 5 out of 5

Shiori, a relative of Tomoya’s, will be staying with Tomoya for awhile. However, even though Shiori is just a child, Rena still gets jealous. Will they be able to spend time together without Shiori getting in the way?

The drawings still look pretty, so no issues there for me. However, I love how the manga-ka drew Shiori — she looks so adorable. :D This story is also pretty typical in shoujo manga, but I find it funny how Rena tries to compete with Shiori. Also, the expressions while they interact with each other are just as funny. It also still has yummy kiss scenes.

Overall, it is a sweet story about jealously, but still shoujo cliche. ;)

Happy Ending

Illustrations: 5 out of 5
Plot: 3 out of 5

Concerned for her grades, Rena’s mom hires a tutor for Rena. When Keiko shows up, it appears that she knows Tomoya. Why does Rena’s tutor know Tomoya?

Awww… Come on, you have to know how this ends up without too much detail, right? Tomoya’s ex equals Rena getting jealous (again). Then you know they have to do something for them to get back together again, right? Like I said, predictable and cliche. Oh, the art is still pretty. ;)

Overall, I didn’t really like the story because it is basically the same as the other one.

Hiroki’s Secret

Illustrations: 5 out of 5
Plot: 3 out of 5

At Parent’s Day, Hiroki thinks his parents won’t be able to make it. However, will he be in for a surprise?

Drawings are still pretty good, and Hiroki is very adorable. Predictable, very. So I won’t go into that many details. It is attached to Tomoya’s and Rena’s stories though. :| However, there is one thing I didn’t expect — for that one couple that formed.

Overall, like almost all shoujo manga, it was pretty easy to know what would happen. :S

Nana and Mickey’s Heart-Racing Manga Lesson

Illustrations: 5 out of 5
Plot: 5 out of 5

Mickey teaches Nana how to become a manga-ka.

The drawings are very well done and helpful. Basically they were very short, sort of helpful, and cute tutorials. It was pretty interesting to read.

Bewildered Princess

Illustrations: 4 out of 5
Plot: 2 out of 5

Saki is very shy, but when she talks with puppets, she is able to talk normally. Takumi, the guy she has a crush on, is in a puppet show with her. However, how will she confess her love?

Art was all right, not as good as the other stories. Also, the plot was very meh, so were the personalities. However, I do like how creative the confession was.

Overall, this story was pretty average and not as interesting. >.<

For VIZ’s part, the stroke around some of the text was too big, so I couldn’t tell whether or not the touch up was done well or not. Also, the text placement was kind of bad. All of the other things (translation, etc) looked okay. :D
