2ND REVIEW. 1ST REVIEW IS HERE.

Claire has never had a passionate lover. However, when her life is in danger from something she has no idea about, Hotwire comes in to rescue her from it. Will they both be able to face their true feelings for each other before her attacker makes another move?

This book is a little less amusing than the other two books in this series, but it still had great descriptions and events. However, the indecisiveness of both Hotwire and Claire made their personalities different from how they are in the other books. Though, the other characters’ personalities are still all right. I found both of the main characters a little whiny and very annoying. :|

Yeah, I really didn’t like the main characters, but the descriptions, events, and smut were the only things I really liked about the book. The smut scenes were very yummy to read. *DROOLS* *SPOILER* It didn’t have any condom scenes like the last two books, but it did have a lot of arguing about him forgetting it. >.>” *END SPOILER*

Anyways, it still had a good blend of suspense and romance, but I could have done without the whining and the feelings conflict between Hotwire and Claire. It also had a pretty good ending for the book and the series, so I was pretty satisfied with how the series ended.

This is the last book in this series; however, there are some connected stories. The connected stories are not apart of this series time-line, but they do mention the characters in this series a little bit. The connected stories are here.

2ND REVIEW. 1ST REVIEW IS HERE.

Josie feels attraction towards Daniel (Nitro), but she thinks he hates her. However, she will soon learn that is not the case, when her dad’s mercenary camp blows up and he goes missing. Will they be able to figure out who is trying to kill her dad? And will they both be willing to face their passionate feelings for each other?

For this series and book, the plot is kind of normal for a romantic suspense novel. But like in the previous book, it had everything it needed to make it unique from being too normal. I still love the descriptions, events, and the personalities of the characters. :D

There are also a few scenes with Josie and Nitro interacting with Lise, Hotwire, Josh (Wolf), and it is still amusing and a little funny when they interact with each other. I find it interesting how Hotwire and Wolf try to ruffle Nitro’s feathers and his temper by using Josie, especially when Hotwire does it. ;)

Another thing I like is how the suspense in the novel makes Nitro realize his feelings for Josie. Also, this book seems to have more “feeling” issues than the first book, mostly because of Nitro’s past.

One more interesting thing is that, like the last book, it has condom scenes, which not many romance books (that I have read) mentions putting on a condom. Also, the smut scenes are very yummy, and the ending is pretty good.

This is the second book in this series; however, there are some connected stories. The connected stories are not apart of this series time-line, but they do mention the characters in this series a little bit. The connected stories are here.

2ND REVIEW. 1ST REVIEW IS HERE.

Lise has been acting very strangely. And when she cancels her plans to go visit her family in Texas for Thanksgiving, Joshua decides to do something about it. However, when he gets there, he discovers her problems are right down his alley. Driven by his former Army Ranger and mercenary skills, he decides to take care of Lise’s stalker. But will they both be ready to face their passion for each other?

The plot is pretty much normal for a romantic suspense novel, but it doesn’t make this novel any less sweet. :) Even though the plot is kind of predictable, like most suspense novels, it had it’s own special spark.

One of the things that made the book enjoyable are the descriptions, events, and characters’ personalities all made this book much more enjoyable (and took it away from the norm a little bit). Another thing I enjoyed is some of the interactions between all of the characters in the book. I even laughed at some of the interactions, conversations, and thoughts. Some of it was definitely amusing to read.

The love/smut scenes were also enjoyable since the author did a pretty good job at describing them and other scenes that are in the book. One more interesting thing is that, it has condom scenes, which not many romance books (that I have read) mention putting on a condom.

Also, it had a nice blend of suspense and romance since it focuses on how the stalker brings their unresolved feelings out in the open. The ending is pretty good, but it was pretty much an average romance (and romantic suspense) ending.

This is the first book in this series; however, there are some connected stories. The connected stories are not apart of this series time-line, but they do mention the characters in this series a little bit. The connected stories are here.

After Sheridan loses her sister, Tina, to the fairy prince, Aislan, she begins to feel lonely. However, Barachus and Dresden, guards to the fairy king, will not let her feel that way for that much longer. But, there are a few problems before they can be together. One, the fairy king won’t allow their relationship. Two, Sheridan doesn’t like/allow males touching her. Will their feelings be strong enough to keep them together?

Okay, this book is much better than the first book in the series. It’s hardly the perfect book, but much, much better than the last one in this series. :) Oh, there might be spoilers in this review as well. ;) Just warning you ahead of time. :D

A couple of notes first before I actually start in with what I like. Don’t worry there are only one or two general notes that I would like to point out first. ;)

Remember how I said, even though the first book is kind of bad, you should still read it? Well, here’s the reason why you should. This book starts off with some parts of Chapter Nine of Fated, but it changes to what happens to Sheridan after Tina leaves with Aislan. Why the author didn’t just combine the two books into one general book with different POVs (point-of-views), I don’t know, but that’s what happens sometimes. Anyways, that was the first note.

The second note is that there is a mention of rape and attempted rape. However, the author tries to put it as delicately as she can without it being too upsetting. Now, if you don’t reading about any kind of rape, attempted rape, or how a woman feels after she is raped, don’t read this book then. ;)

One last note, before I forget and gush over the smutty parts. ;) There are male x male smut scenes and male x female x male smut scenes. I like ménage and yaoi, so I don’t have a problem reading about it. But, I mostly know how most people react when they see homosexual relations, so just warning about those things.

Now that those notes are done, let’s move on to why I liked this book a lot more. One, the plot and character development is much more noticeable. I actually can tell what some of the character’s personalities are now. ;) It also has more emotion from the characters, rather than having just “sadness” like the first book did.

Another thing I love about the book is that there is more action. The last book had too much cuddling and crying for my tastes. ^^; And I like Sheridan develops her “claws” against her attacker and show how he (the attacker) can’t overpower her anymore. :D

The last thing I liked about the books is, you guessed it, the smut. I love how the author was able to make the male x male scenes and ménage scenes so yummy~ *COUGHS* I’ll stop that before I write all of the lovely, smutty scenes. ^^;

Overall, this book had a lot more development than the previous one, and the characters had more emotion to them. It was also pretty much a short, fast read. ;)

One more thing, if the author comes out with more Woodland Magic books, I might not read them. :(

When Tina goes to visit her sister, Sheridan, she meets Aislan. Tina has never believed in fairy tales, but meeting Aislan, a fairy prince, has changed her mind. But will the fairy be able to save from a disease no one can cure?

This was a very short e-book, and one or two problems that caused me to not really enjoy reading it. >.>” I know, I like smut, but I like a little bit more plot and character development would have been nice. And the only reason why the rating is a two is because I like the smut in it. Oh, there might be some spoilers in my review. ^^;

Okay, now for the reasons why I didn’t like it. One, not enough plot and character development. Two, not that much in-depth feeling in order to make it a little bit better and longer. There, the personalities are so blah, and they don’t really develop until the second book. Correction, nothing really develops until the second book.

This part of the review might contain spoilers.

The basic plot reminds me of so many different supernatural HEA (happily ever afters) that have the main character suffering from an incurable disease in the human world, but the supernatural portion (vampire, fairies, etc) finds are way to cure it (usually by bringing them into their world). Then, they live happily ever after.

Now, that might be the HEA you like, but I usually like my climax with more action than finding a way to cure an incurable disease (unless it has some kind of twist).

End Spoilers?

Now for the things I liked it: the smut, of course, and some of the details. Also, it is a quick smutty read. That’s it. >.>”

Overall, if you want to pay $4.00 to $5.00 for an eighty-four-page e-book, go ahead. I mostly bought it because I love supernatural, smutty things. And, I loved the cover. Though, I would read it before reading the second book since it kind of goes over what happens in this book. ;)

#Old_BlueBooks-3_5

Samantha has been away from the dating world for far too long, or at least according to her friend Pinky. Through a dating site, she meets Nathanial, a guy who will be more different than she could ever imagine. And Nathanial finds out there is more to Samantha than what meets the eye. What will happen between the two of them when Nathanial’s “friends” find out Samantha has a special ability?

It has been awhile since I have read this, but I guess it is a good thing I scribble down some notes about the books I have been reading lately, huh? :) Anyways, what can I say about this book that sounds kind of like a review? :P

This book is pretty much like any other vampire book I have read, but a little bit better. Even though the book is relatively normal for this kind of genre, I can still say I enjoyed it. Errr, well, since it’s smut, I can say I would enjoy it either way. :D I’ve read some of this author’s free reads in the past, and I can say this one is MUCH tamer compared to her other smut, so beware if you want to read her other works. :P Oh, and also, it is told by Samantha’s POV and Nathanial’s POV. :)

Anyways, things I liked about this book is that the author kind of puts in there about safe Internet dating like how Samantha brings her friend Pinky to the place of the date, so she can watch over Samantha (from a distance). I know most people wouldn’t think how the author put that into the book is a good thing, but I like to think there are hidden messages and advice in the books I read. :D

Second, the author actually describes her characters, including their hair color (most books just let the book covers do it). Also, I like how the main female character has a hair color that most main characters don’t have (red). Most books I read I either imagine the characters with blonde or brown hair, unless the author says otherwise. >.>”

Next, the author makes the shapeshifters kind of unique. They have three forms instead of just two (human and then their animal forms). Also, there were one or two animals I never read in shapeshifter novels, which was an otter and a kitten. *___*

The author also mentions several little things that I like or was amused about. Let’s see, she added in homosexual couples and male x male kisses (without the character being a “couple”). Though, I wouldn’t worry too much about it since there is only like one or two male x male kissing scene, and not very detailed at that. Also, she has a Nathanial who likes voluptuous women, uses old slang like swank and mod, Marcos somehow amuses me ♥, and how Nathanial talks like a grandpa telling you about the “old ways”. And lastly, how the author “mentions” how society is now more focused with sex now than in earlier days.

Okay, I am just going to list some things I didn’t like. The main female character doesn’t like her weight, which is so typical in many romance books. Everyone blames Thad, and I actually feel bad for him since he can’t get back together with the woman he loves.  Also, the smut started so late in the book. >.>” Oh, and the ending is kind of disappointing since the story kind of feels incomplete. And that’s about it for things I didn’t like. :)

Overall, it was an average book, but I mostly liked it. Though, before I end this review here are the warnings, there is a rape scene of a little girl and homosexual themes mentioned. However, both of these are not very detailed, so there shouldn’t really be a problem. Also, it feels like there will be a sequel, but I am not sure, since there are some things you really don’t know about like what happens between Thad and Isella.
